Folding Activity For this activity you will need 6 10-12 inch squares of material with stitching in contrasting colors. These would be easy to make on the sewing machine, but I found an example on etsy for you to get an idea of what they look like. Bring the tray of cloths to the work area. Invite the child to participate as you unfold the cloths. Indicate the stitching lines on the cloth. Take the top corners in your fingers and bring the corners toward yourself matching them to the bottom corners. Hold the edge of the cloths with the subdominant hand. Smooth the fold with the dominant hand. Readjust the corners if necessary. Continue with the other cloths. Return the cloths to the tray and place back on the shelf. The goal of this activity is to develop independence, visual perception, and hand-eye coordination.
